Trusted Research Evaluation Framework
Last week we were pleased to share our Trusted Research Evaluation Framework at a roundtable with 24 of the UK’s leading universities. This is an exciting tool which forms part of our Trusted Research advice which aims to protect the integrity of the system of international research collaboration.
The UK has a thriving research and innovation sector that attracts investment from across the world. More than half of the UK research is a product of international partnerships. Trusted Research aims to support the integrity of the system of international research collaboration, which is vital to the continued success of the UK's research and innovation sector.
The framework aims to help institutions evaluate their own research security across seven areas of activity: senior endorsement and governance; communications; training; institutional risk and collaboration; people, processes, and guidance; data and devices; as well as impact evaluation.
We work closely with our partners in the National Cyber Security Centre to prepare all of our Trusted Research guidance and we’re pleased that it’s having an impact. A recent Association of Research Managers and Administrators survey found that 84% of institutions surveyed had begun to change their processes in response to engagement with the Trusted Research campaign.
The event was jointly hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Science and Technology. You can read more about it in this press release.
