This chapter lists impact rated vehicle security barriers (VSB) that have been tested to publicly available vehicle impact test standards.  Due care should be taken when selecting and specifying VSBs.  Please also read further HVM guidance.

Vehicle Mass (kg) The mass of the test vehicle includes, vehicle lubricants, limited fuel and possibly ballast.

Impact Speed (Km/h) The speed of the free moving vehicle impacting the static VSB.

Impact Angle (°) The horizontal angle at which the test vehicle impacts the VSB.

Penetration Distance (m) Vehicle penetration distance is measured after the vehicle impact test from defined datum points.

Standard The vehicle impact test standard to the which the product was tested to.

Foundation Defines the foundation required and its depth range.

Operation Describes whether the barrier moves or is static.

Deployment Describes whether the VSB is installed for a short or long duration.

Categories / Style of VSB Defines the product category that the VSB falls in.
