Workplace Behaviours Campaign
Campaign detail
How your employees behave in the workplace can have a real impact on the security risks and vulnerabilities your organisation faces. Encouraging your employees to think and act in a security-conscious and collaborative manner, as well as to take personal responsibility for their actions, can help prevent incidents and breaches from happening. Poor security practice can also leave visitors and contractors with the impression that your organisation has a relaxed attitude to security, indicating it could be an easy target.
The Workplace Behaviours campaign kit is designed to help individual staff members ensure that they are getting the security basics right, in and around the workplace.
Of course, different organisations will expect their staff to behave in different ways, depending on what’s specifically at risk. But if you’re stretched for resources, this easy-to-use kit offers practical security advice that everyone can follow, and the materials to run a campaign.
The ‘Workplace Behaviours’ campaign addresses seven key issues:
- Staff not wearing their pass in the office or forgetting to remove it when they leave work.
- Computers left unlocked when staff are away from their desk.
- Staff continuing sensitive discussions outside the meeting room.
- Sensitive documents being left out for anyone passing by to see.
- Sensitive materials being destroyed inappropriately, such as not using a shredder.
- Staff ignoring company security policies and measures.
- Letting visitors walk around the office unescorted or without a pass.
The campaign materials consist of the following:
- A campaign starter kit which provides guidance on how to run a campaign. It also details all the asset materials.
- 12 posters in A3 and A4 size - One employee's trash; Lock it away; Don't give criminals a free pass; Loose lips still sink ships; Are you cyber savvy; Wear them in; Today it's a laptop; Safe travels; Lookout; Keep the meeting in the meeting room; My visitor is my responsibility; Is your computer password locked up. Please note that these are large files and may take a short time to appear on your screen and to download.
- One ‘introduction to security’ booklet for employees including a short quiz, and a customisable 'security agents' set of personas.
- Three checklists: ‘Workmate Bingo’, ‘Every day in the Life’, and ‘Watch It!’
- One video: ‘Getting the basics right’
- Downloadable graphics, including stickers and screensavers.
